Shoppers explore the aisles at the newly reopened Super Irvine International Market in Parkview Center

Super Irvine Market Reopens Bigger at Parkview Center

July 22, 20262 min read

Super Irvine International Market has reopened at Parkview Center, now 30,000 square feet, twice the size of its original Irvine location, with a packed grand opening that drew lines out the door.

For longtime residents, this one hits close to home. Super Irvine first opened in Irvine back in 1996 and closed its original location three years ago, so its return has been a long time coming.

What's new about the Parkview Center location?

The market is organized by region, Asian, European, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean, with a Turkish coffee and juice bar adding to the international feel. A Boar's Head deli serves Persian-inspired favorites like kotlet sandwiches and kuku sabzi, alongside a full-service halal and kosher butcher shop. There's also a wood-fired sangak bread oven you can watch in action, a Persian pastry counter, and a new Mediterranean restaurant run by the family's second generation.

"Irvine is truly a melting pot of cultures, and Super Irvine is a place where those cultures grow stronger together under one roof," said Mahta Ariarad, who runs the market with her sister Ana and their father Ali, according to Irvine Community Connection.

Why this matters for the neighborhood

Family-owned, multi-generational businesses like Super Irvine are part of what makes Irvine feel like a genuine community rather than just a collection of subdivisions. A hyperlocal grocery this specialized, with sections spanning half the globe, is exactly the kind of amenity that makes a neighborhood sticky for buyers who value walkable, everyday convenience over just school scores and square footage.

Parkview Center sits across from Strawberry Farms Golf Club and Tanaka Farms, so this corner of Irvine is quickly becoming a nice little food and shopping cluster in its own right.

Where is the new Super Irvine location?

Super Irvine is located at 5311 University Drive and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
